Today is International Literacy Day. How about doing something to boost your information skills and begin the academic year on the right foot?
Here are a few ideas of things you could do for your information literacy with just a few minutes of your time:
- Pop in the library and check out a book. If you go to your local public library, it counts too!
- Have a look at our catalogue and search for a book on your subject. Put it on hold and come pick it up later in the week.
- Check out a bibliographic database you've never used: check them out here and pick your favourite.
- To access resources such as bibliographic databases, you need to use your Shibboleth account. Make sure that you know how to use it and how to renew your password by having a look here.
- To keep up with news on information skills at the Tavisotck & Portman, subscribe to email updates (on the right of your screen) or follow us on Twitter!
- If you don't have a Twitter account yet, you should! Get one and follow lots of psychological therapies professionnals by checking out our following list.
- Take our "How to find a document?" tutorial to make sure that you know how to find books and journal articles with our library.
- Check out our Subject Guides and bookmark the one on your favourite topic. Make sure that you check it regularly for news on your subject!
