Missed your Library induction? Here’s what to do…

Last week was Welcome Week: I spent my time running around the Trust, trying to give library inductions to all the courses present. And I met 332 new students in the process!

If by chance you were in one of the few courses I didn't get to meet or if you couldn't make it to your induction, then you can access an online version of this induction by clicking on the image below.

It should take you about half an hour to complete (just as long as the face-to-face induction) and it will set you up to a good start for this academic year!

Here are topics broached by the induction:
  • How to get help from the library;
  • How to access your reading list;
  • How to use Discovery to search our resources; and
  • How to use our shelfmark system.
And let us know if you have any questions!

Welcome to the library

Welcome to all our new students for this new academic year! And welcome back to all returning students!

This week is Welcome Week so we will be welcoming new students to the library with warm smiles and lots of chocolate...

All courses will also receive an introduction to the library during their course induction.

Our personal librarians are also back in service. If you don't know who your personal librarian is, check the list over here, then send them an email to say hello!

End of the academic year

This week is the last week of term 3 at the Tavistock and Portman.

This blog will be on hiatus until the start of the academic year 2017-2018 next September.

In the mean time, check out our archives (start here!), have a look at the library's website, and feel free to contact us if you have any question.

Have a lovely summer!

Exporting references from one EndNote account to another

Have you created two different EndNote accounts by mistake?

If you've got references in each account and you want to merge them, here is what to do: simply export the references from one account and export them into the other.

The video below shows you exactly how to do that, step by step.
