Where and how to find the information you need?

So, you need some information... But do you know where and how to search for it?

Here is a quick guide to information skills. Please browse the following pages first. Then, if you still can't find what you need, contact your personal librarian.

• Do you want to find a book in the library? You will have to use the library's catalogue.

• Are you searching for an article in particular? 
• Do you know its title and author?
• Do you know in which issue of which journal it was published?


• Do you want to find a variety of articles on a particular subject or from a particular author? Then you're going to need to use a bibliographic database.


• As you're browsing through numerous interesting titles, you're going to want to collect and manage those references to be able to cite them easily later on.


• To access all of the expensive resources put at your disposal by Tavistock library, you're going to need to use your Shibboleth account: need help with that?
